Sooke Philharmonic Chorus

The
chorus began as the Sooke
Festival Chorus, performing
in the millennium Sooke Festival
of Performing Arts under the
direction of Christopher Symons.
After two seasons, it became
the Sooke Philharmonic Chorus
in 2002, with Mary Holland
as Choral Director.
Now
under the direction of Wade
Noble, this auditioned group
of approximately 30 singers
performs classical repertoire
with the Sooke Philharmonic
Chamber Players twice a year.

Wade Noble, B.Mus., M.Mus.
(U.Vic.)
Wade
Noble has lived in Victoria
since 1987, during which time
he has completed two music
degrees and has become an
active performer, conductor,
instructor and clinician throughout
Vancouver Island.
An enthusiastic and exuberant
conductor, Wade is well-known
for being able to bring out
high levels of musicianship
from people of widely varying
skills and backgrounds. He
is dedicated to inspiring
the musicians who work with
him to reach past their limits
and take on increasingly challenging
works.
Wade’s other great passion
in life is motorcycling, and
the bearded and tattooed choral
director can regularly be
seen (and heard) cruising
down the highways on his motorcycle.
In addition to his work with
the Sooke Philharmonic Chorus,
Wade also conducts Sooke’s
favourite chamber choir Ekoos,
and once weekly commutes to
Nanaimo where he conducts
the 90-voice Malaspina Choir.
Wade also takes on engagements
as a baritone soloist whenever
possible and enjoys singing
in the semi-pro chamber choir
Voces Intimae.
