What to expect at the gardens this year

Sooke has many amazing gardens that, during our annual Secret Garden tour, the public is invited to visit and enjoy. Sooke’s temperate, West Coast climate allows for a wide variety of gardening, and there are countless impressive gardens throughout the village and surrounding area representing a wide range of styles. We are so grateful to the garden owners who spend hours preparing their private, gorgeous gardens and opening them up for the public to enjoy.

During this year’s tour, you can expect to see gardens of all sizes from the small urban oasis to large, park-like estates. This year we‘ve extended our garden choices to include our neighbouring East Sooke’s rural area with three imaginative gardens which exemplify the rigours of gardening in the woods!

The ALM Organic Farm is our destination garden this year featuring their working organic farm — produce, herbs and flowers plus their Full Circle Seeds!

Members from the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and the Children’s Harmony Project Sooke will be providing music in some of the gardens. Local Artisans will be displaying their art work with opportunities to purchase items. As well, Master Gardeners will be available to answer your questions or provide information on gardening!

As the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra’s main fundraising event, we were thrilled to have raised almost $11,000 in 2019 to help us enrich lives through music. This year, we hope to reach our goal of $13,000!
